Hermod's Star: The Messenger

Hermod is the son of Odin and Frigga, and Odin’s messenger. When his brother Baldur was killed, Odin asked Hermod to ride the nine-day journey to Helheim and to beg Hela to restore Baldur. Hermod made the ride on Sleipnir, his father’s horse, but although he completed his mission, Hela did not like the idea and Baldur ultimately stayed in Helheim among the Dead.

However, the Rider of the Hel Road can be found in the sky as part of the Dog constellation. The star known to the Arabs as Murzim (“Announcer”), because it preceded the rising of Sirius, extremely important to the seasonal notation in Egypt and the Middle East at that time. Hermod’s star has been noted as being strong in the charts of people who are messengers, radio and TV announcers, etc. Modernly, it is said to give someone the urge to carry a message to the world, through research or performance.
